MRL #004- 4 Must Have Tools For Prospecting—And How I Use Them To Build Hyper-Targeted Lead Lists
Happy Sunday,
Welcome to the fourth issue of the Max Revenue Letter.
It’s officially "Let's Circle Back After The Holidays" season. But, that doesn’t mean we should just hang it up for the year.
So today let’s continue our prospecting prep work for 2023.
4 Must Have Tools For Prospecting—And How I Use Them To Build Hyper-Targeted Lead Lists
I’ve called thousands of businesses during my time in the industry.
Unfortunately, I wasted a lot of time early in my career searching for businesses to call.
Don’t be like me.
Save yourself a ton of time and invest in lead generation.
Here are 4 lead generation tools guaranteed to help you identify, qualify, and contact thousands of quality prospects (in any industry).
1. MiEdge
-Great for finding small to medium sized businesses ($5M-$20M in revenue)
-Search by SIC codes or industry
-Great insights for Health & Benefits Producers (5500s and Fidelity Bonds)
2. ZoomInfo
-Great for finding a little mid-market companies ($10M-$50M in revenue)
-Search by industry
-Shows decision maker phone #s
-Shows decision maker email addresses
3. InsuranceXdate.com
-Amazing for finding W/C x-dates
-Search by industry
-Not available in all states
4. Motor Carrier Leads
-Great for finding transportation-related companies
-Uses data from DOT filings
-Shows x-dates
-Shows current carrier
-Shows number of vehicles
-Shows history of violations
How I Use Them Together To Build Hyper-Targeted Lead Lists
My niche is “blue-collar businesses with wheels”. Think contractors, construction, and trucking.
Here’s how I use all 4 tools together to build my lead lists:
Step 1: Use MiEdge to build list of 300 companies in “construction” and “trucking” industry (you can widen or narrow geographic area to meet 300 companies). Export list to an excel spreadsheet.
Step 2: I use insurancexdate(dot)com or Motor Carrier Leads to find xdates and current carrier info and input into spreadsheet.
Step 3: Use ZoomInfo to find decision maker names and cell phone #’s. Input into spreadsheet.
Step 4: Sort spreadsheet chronologically by xdate.
I now have a list of roughly 300 companies in my niche, with x-dates, contact info, and current carrier info.
If they are DOT regulated I can also see their BASIC score and violation history. That’s about as hyper-targeted as you can get!
Then I simply call companies 150 days out from their renewal (when they’re most likely receptive to discussing their program).
Pretty cool, huh?
Ok, that’s it for this week
Hope this helps you in your prospecting endeavors.
See you next Sunday.
Kick ass take names,
